Second Letter to Kool-Aid

Dear W. Whitington,

Thank you for your kind letter. And thanks for the recipes! Though I like Kook-Aid over ice just fine, those recipes in Refreshing Drinks with Country Time, Crystal Light, Kool-Aid, Tang, Favorite Products Idea File sure do sound tantilizing! By the time you read this, I’m sure I’ll already have made and enjoyed more than one of the "Jumpin' Juicy Punches"!

I just wanted to let you know how things are going with my new boyfriend, Ron. After all, we met over a glass of Pink Swimmingo, as you might remember.

Ron is a real find! The strong, silent type, if you know what I mean. But God knows that strength is only gained through pain. Ever since he divorced his wife, Marcy, two years ago and started living life as an openly gay man, Ron has struggled with the difficulties which face gay parents. Luckilly, he was awarded custody of the children, Debbie, age 6, and Ron Jr., 4. Still, it's not easy.

And it hasn’t been easy for me either, W.! I’ve only been seeing Ron a short while, but I’ve already felt what Ron’s difficulties must be like. Getting a baby sitter every time we want to go out is a pain in the neck. And I don’t like how it’s a huge deal if I want to stay over!

Still, it’s very nice. Me and Ron usually stay home with the kids, watching videos like the Care Bears and Ron Jr.’s favorite, the Little Mermaid. (After the little ones are all tucked in, we watch something more to our taste.) We always pop popcorn and drink plenty of Kool-Aid.

Kool-Aid is an economical—and caffeine-free—alternative to expensive colas. It’s simple to make—even the kids can do it! Little Debbie particularly enjoys watching the green Great Bluedini powder turn into blue liquid.

Well, W., I just wanted to let you know how thankful Ron and I are to Kool-Aid for bringing us together. And, as we stay together, we’re hoping to bring Kool-Aid with us, every step of the way!

Please write again—it was a special treat for me, Ron & the kids to receive your last letter.

Love,

John Sanchez

P.S. Ron & I are secretly saving up Kool-Aid proofs-of-purchase and we hope to soon surprise Debbie and Ron Jr. with surprises from the Kool-Aid Wacky Warehouse!
